About me
Fran Matsumoto is a japanese-brazilian artist born in the outskirts of São Paulo, who loves picturebooks and graphic novels. Graduated in Biology at the University of São Paulo in 2019, works as a freelance illustrator since then. Her first picturebook Tatá, published by Edições Barbatana, received the Distincion Award Seal, by Cátedra UNESCO de Leitura PUC-Rio of 2020. Her second picturebook Minúscula, published by Brinque-Book, was one of the 5 finalists of the Jabuti Award, in the illustration category, in 2023, and was longlisted for the Bologna Children's Book Fair illustration contest in 2024. She usually works with analogic materials, such as watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, among others
